Hot cross buns and honey butter

Happy Easter all! To start the Easter weekend I thought I would have a go at baking hot cross buns.

Being a newbie to hot cross buns I took the easy way out using my Thermomix and the recipe from the  Everyday cookbook/recipe chip. The steps to make the dough, batter for the cross and sugar syrup were relatively easy. The only downside being the recommended cooking time of 10-15 minutes at 220 degrees in the oven simply not being long enough.

After an extended amount of time in the oven the hot cross buns ended up crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Served hot with some honey butter I whipped up last night (recipe from Thermomix in Australia, community recipe page) they worked a treat!
