Ricotta hotcakes, Bills, Surry Hills

Ricotta hotcakes

Full Aussie breakfast
  • Ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter, $21.00, number 4 on the top 100 Sydney dishes to die for list (The Sunday Telegraphy, Dec 14)

Bill's ricotta hotcakes are an iconic Sydney breakfast dish so it's no surprise they rated so highly on the top 100 Sydney dishes to die for list.

Having had Bill's hotcakes in the past I was looking forward to eating them again, though this time with a toddler just as excited by hotcakes as her mother they didn't last quite as long.

With a generous amount of banana, honeycomb butter and jug of maple syrup (not pictured) these ricotta hotcakes are fabulous.

A lover of eggs and anything meaty Mr FPL ordered the Full Aussie breakfast ($25.00), and full it was with scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, cumin roast tomato, miso mushrooms and pork and fennel sausages.

To drink I had the Sunrise, a smoothie made up of berries, banana, yoghurt and orange juice, it was good.  Mr FPL had his usual latte and freshly squeezed orange juice and Gabby had some water in a small coffee cup with a straw, very cute!

If you haven't tried Bill's ricotta hotcakes than get down to Surry Hills or Bondi and order yourself a plate!
